I often refer to downtown Walnut Creek which encompasses the Broadway Plaza shopping center and other shops located downtown that reaches the Lesher Center for the Arts several blocks away. Same goes for downtown Lafayette which includes La Fiesta Square, and other shops located in the vicinity.
I cannot do the same with downtown Pleasant Hill because the Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center is known as, “Downtown Pleasant Hill”. Check out the Downtown Pleasant Hill website here. At first glance you might think it was sponsored by the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce or downtown association. However this is the shopping center’s website. From the point of view of the shopping center I think it’s great for them to be known as “downtown Pleasant Hill” but it sure is confusing! I wonder how the city ever allowed them to use this name?
