Bonehead’s Texas BBQ opened last week in Lafayette, replacing Bo’s Barbecue that closed last year. Check out their menu here. The inside looks really nice and spacious with several TVs gracing the walls. There is also plenty of outdoor seating on their patio.
From their Facebook page:
Bonehead’s Texas BBQ is the brainchild of a Silicon Valley salesman who chose to do something he loved rather than continue to put up with the daily commute. As a hobby, Dave Roberson (aka Duroc) has been smoking for friends, family, churches, and large groups for 25 plus years. His first smoker was made from a 55-gallon drum, a stolen grocery cart, (he says someone else stole it, he just didn’t know where to return it to—yeah, right, Dave) and a couple of lawn mower tires. Yep, he’s a real bubba!
All of our products are prepared fresh daily… well most of them. The cole slaw, tater salad and other salads are. But our meats take days to prepare even before they’re cooked. You see, we use rubs on our meats that we allow to soak in for up to 72 hours before they’re placed in the smoker. That’s what makes Bonehead’s different – we’re slow – low and slow smokin’. We use wood fired smokers only – no natural gas or charcoal. We believe natural gas and charcoal leave a flavor that isn’t compatible to tasty food.

Broadway Pointe, Walnut Creek
The upscale home goods store Restoration Hardware, located in downtown Walnut Creek in the Broadway Pointe shopping plaza, is looking to relocate to a new flagship store across the street in Broadway Plaza according to a reliable source. It’s not definite but it looks like it would be located where the Macy’s men’s store is on the backside next to the restaurant Stanford’s. This will take place at a later phase within the Broadway Plaza plan. Stay tuned…

This is the third kitchen featured from the 2015 Lafayette Juniors kitchen tour held last month. Check out the first and second kitchens if you missed it. In the past 12 months the Lafayette Juniors have raised over $50,000 for local non-profit organizations. Find out more about their beneficiaries here.
This Lafayette home was gorgeous. I especially liked the spacious island and clean design throughout. The living room located on a different level yet with an open layout was stunning! And the outside patio area surrounded by trees and nature is sublime; perfect for both entertaining or relaxing.
From the Lafayette Juniors description:
The contemporary kitchen was completely updated to reflect the home’s sleek contemporary spirit. A white quartz countertop balances the blue gray tones of the cabinetry and the dark hardwood flooring. Built-in appliances are placed cleanly around the perimeter of the kitchen, while a driftwood sphere pendant light adds an organic touch and sheds warmth over the center island. The home also boasts a mudroom hallway, which helps the kitchen to stay uncluttered.

Last week we learned the unfortunate news that Barnes & Noble would be closing in downtown Walnut Creek this January. This was my go-to store for book shopping and browsing but considering it’s still open for the summer, there is still time to pick up some books. (There’s also the library). A couple of weeks ago I asked about must-see summer movies. What books are on your summer reading list? Will you read it in paper form or as an e-book?
