This If you See Something, Say Something sign spotted in downtown Lafayette is something I’d expect to see in the NYC subway or maybe Union Square in San Francisco. Is there some kind of terrorism threat going on in Lafayette now?

It took a while but the Broadway Plaza bench backs are back!
As a local business, you may not have access to professional designers but please take care in choosing the fonts to be used on your signage, mailings, merchandise etc. If you’re considering using the Papyrus (or Comic Sans) font, please view this video a few times before making a decision…
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Has anyone noticed that the new benches surrounding the fountain after Apple reopened in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek have lost their backs? I thought they were going to be replaced but it’s been a while and no backs so far. I wonder what happened?
In addition to ballot drop off boxes you can also vote early in downtown Walnut Creek at City Hall today from 11am – 7pm. There was quite a line over the weekend so I’m glad I filled it out at home and just dropped into the box. Get your vote in early!
From the City of Walnut Creek voting information page:
If you would like to cast your ballot in person before the November 6 General Election date, you can do so at one of 3 different locations throughout the County, including Walnut Creek City Hall. County Elections staff will be on hand to assist you as they would at any regular polling place on Election Day. The hours are as follows:
· Monday, November 5: 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Just as you would on Election Day, bring your sample ballot or Voter Information Guide to help you make your selections. Give your full name to the staff at the sign-in table. Proceed to an open voting booth and mark your ballot. Each early voting site has an accessible ballot-marking device as well. When you finish, seal and sign the envelope and place it in the secure ballot box.

Spotted at the new Burgerim in Pleasant Hill. The sign on the door says, “restroom for all”. Next to the door is a typical bathroom sign: “WOMEN”. Which one is correct?
Thanks to a reader for pointing out this sign at the Lesher Center parking garage in downtown Walnut Creek:
POLICE BAIT CAR MAY BE IN PARKING LOT
-WALNUT CREEK POLICE
Is there some legal reason this sign is needed? If so, if the bait car is blue would it be invalidated? “Your honor, the sign clearly shows a red sports car but the bait car was a blue SUV …”
Spotted outside the Veteran’s building on Hartz Ave in Danville.
From the Contra Costa Public Health Department:
Some Contra Costa residents and visitors may have been exposed to measles recently after a Contra Costa County resident visited several public venues while contagious.
“We have notified people in Contra Costa who were known to be in close contact to the case, but not every potential contact at a public venue can be identified. Anyone who visited the following locations during the indicated dates and times could have potentially been exposed to the measles virus and should check immunity status.” said Paul Leung, Communicable Disease Programs Chief with Contra Costa Public Health.
