The Downtown Walnut Creek Association is seeking a full-time Executive Director to join our team. As our Executive Director, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to work in one of the West’s premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destinations. Downtown Walnut Creek is renowned for its world-class selection of shops, offering the ultimate shopping experience – all in a safe, beautiful, and pedestrian-friendly setting.
The Executive Director will preserve and build upon a vibrant, successful downtown. This position is a great fit for a creative, natural born leader with a passion for marketing and events, and strong administrative and accounting skill set. With direction from the Board, the Executive Director will serve as the “face” of the Association. A desire to build strong relationships is a must – interfacing with business owners, city staff and officials, and vendors is a large part of the position.
A Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communication, business, or similar is required. Experience in nonprofit management or service on a nonprofit board is desired. Knowledge of or experience with business improvement districts helpful, but not required. This is an independent contractor position. Compensation depending on experience.
