Over the past month there has been a lot of talk about how the San Francisco Bay Area Renters’ Federation (SFBARF) is planning to sue Lafayette over lack of affordable housing development, specifically as it relates to the changes at the Homes at Deer Hill project near the corner of Highway 24 and Pleasant Hill Rd. which resulted in a 300+ apartment complex turning into a 44 single family home development. Check out their website Sue the Suburbs here for more information.
Do you agree with SFBARF for suing Lafayette? Considering this development is about one and a half miles away from BART should they have chosen a different target, closer to BART instead? Or should they leave suburban Lafayette alone and focus on building up urban areas such as San Francisco?
