This week the infamous Golden State Killer, AKA East Area Rapist, a former police officer who, according to this Wikipedia article, struck twice in Concord, twice in Walnut Creek, three times in Danville and once in San Ramon (among dozens of other rapes and murders) in the late 1970’s, was captured by the Sacramento County Sheriff’s department. I imagine the East Bay was a lot more rural and isolated than it is now and apparently before these attacks some people even kept their doors unlocked.
Coming from New York I’ve always taken precautions such as making sure all windows and doors are locked or securely fastened. What home safety precautions do you take?
