Pedego, an electric bicycle brand founded in 2008, recently opened a showroom at Park Plaza Shops in Lafayette. For more information, check out their Lafayette page here. The 5 year warranty on parts, battery, frame and even anti-theft protection is great!
I have a RadCity e-bike and enjoy it a lot, particularly on uphill sections. I tend to ride it to the farmers’ market. Being able to set the power assist allows me to still get a good workout.

Last October, we learned that Mangia Ristorante Pizzeria closed at La Fiesta Square in Lafayette and its replacement, Sliver Pizzeria, has now opened in this spot. Check out the Lafayette menu here. In addition to pizza, they also offer salads, nachos, waffle fries, and more. There is also various beer on tap, wine, margaritas and even fresh gelato. I tried a slice of corn pizza and quite liked it.
Lafayette Mercantile
After ten years at Lafayette Clocktower, Venture Goods is relocating down the block to Lafayette Mercantile where Jos. A. Bank used to be. Check out their online shop here. If you’re in the area make sure to drop by and check it out because it has the most amazing selection of clothing and goods and the store design is top notch as well. I look forward to checking out the new location in March.

I was surprised to see the distinctive Cuesta Antiques truck by Whole Foods at Plaza Center in Lafayette, and sure enough, in the back is Cuesta Antiques, relocated from their former spot in La Fiesta Square.

Thanks to everyone who mailed that Patxi’s Pizza has closed at the Lafayette Clocktower. They had been open in this spot for over 11 years. Their Dublin and other locations remain open.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that Five Little Monkeys will be coming to Lafayette where Cake Box used to be, right near La Fiesta Square, across from FedEx. I’ve been to their downtown Walnut Creek location many times so I know this will be a great addition to Lafayette. Check out their online selection here. This will be Lafayette’s second toy store; Learning Express Toys is located a few blocks away on Mt. Diablo Blvd.
