Town Hall Theatre is proud to present the combined comedic forces of Johnny Steele & Will Durst. Steele & Durst have previously performed at Town Hall, but this is the first joint appearance of these comedic powerhouses and each will not only be performing an extended headliner set, but the two will team up for an exclusive Q & A after the show. Expect many wacky zany antics to spontaneously generate.

Pittsburg native Johnny Steele began performing comedy in 1984 after quitting graduate school in a move his parents referred to as: “Operation $40K Down The Drain.” This St. Mary’s alum has gone on to perform comedy at clubs, festivals, competitions, on national TV, corporate gigs and various Knights of Columbus dinners. Along the way, Johnny found time to host Live 105’s Morning Radio Show and KRON/Bay TV’s THE SHOW. One third of the titular characters in the “3 Still Standing” documentary, Johnny is currently touring the country as well as working on a number of web, radio, and TV projects. He is also working on a one- man show about his journey to find peace in a world gone mad, but described as the new normal.

Lafayette Town Center Condos Construction begins next to Lafayette BART Station

Construction on the Lafayette Town Center next to the BART station (behind Pizza Antica) finally began last month. According to the sign above there will be 69 condos, have two floors of underground parking and be ready in two years.

Caroline’s Salon Relocating within La Fiesta Square in Lafayette in October

Bistro Burger & Grill Opening Mid September in Lafayette

Last December we learned that Susan Foord Cafe was closing in Lafayette near Trader Joe’s and now a new restaurant called Bistro Burger & Grill will be opening there in mid-September assuming everything goes as planned with final inspections. I dropped by and spoke to the owner who said the menu will be more upscale than their four San Francisco locations (check it out here). In addition to burgers there will also be grilled dishes, beer, wine and more. The inside has been completely remodeled with two flat screen televisions and is much more spacious. Stay tuned…

Lace & Bustle Bridal Opens in Lafayette

In June we learned that a new bridal boutique called Lace & Bustle would be opening in the Clocktower in downtown Lafayette and they have now opened. Check out photos of the inside down below, very nicely done.

Reflecting the culture wars of our time with humor and irony, Latent Image exposes the absurdities of language that inhibit communication between warring factions.

Having lost his parents and his wife, Tommy Tremaine feels abandonded and longs for reconnection with his twin sister Dinah after years of estrangement. In trying to maneuver through the emotional baggage that bedevils them, Tommy discovers to his horror that while he was able to cast off the religion of this youth, it’s not so easy to shed the shame that the religion had fostered in him.

Swad Indian Cuisine Relocating to Moraga Road in Lafayette this Fall

Alleged Serial Arsonist Arrested for East Bay Fires including Lafayette, Orinda and Walnut Creek

KTVU reports that a man has been arrested from Discovery Bay in connection with multiple arson fires in Lafayette near Highway 24 that almost burned down a house, as well as Orinda, Walnut Creek, Concord and elsewhere in the East Bay.
