Back in May we learned that Smitten Ice Cream opened in downtown Lafayette and their signage is now up. Check out their menu here.
The temporary fencing that had been in front of the Park Plaza shops in downtown Lafayette for a while have finally been removed, the Available signs are up, so I look forward to seeing which stores, restaurant and/or cafe will open up in this location. Note the store at the far left in the photo is the Pioneer Store which was built in the 1860s and used as a store, post office and dwelling house.

Back in March we learned that the pop-up boutique Leslie Evers would be closing in downtown Lafayette in La Fiesta Square, to be replaced by a new Douglah Design showroom and their temporary signage is now up. This store will feature lighting and plumbing fixtures, sinks, tile and more while their other location at 3586 Mt Diablo Blvd. down the street will host their showroom. The Starbucks in La Fiesta Square at the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Lafayette Circle in downtown Lafayette is getting remodeled this week. It will reopen this Saturday, July 19th.
Back in May I noted that the Berkeley-based olive oil and balsamic vinegar company Amphora would be opening next to The Cooperage in downtown Lafayette and progress has been continuing as temporary signs are now up indicating that they are “coming this summer”. When they return, Hals wife, Katie, has disappeared without a clue. When Hal becomes the prime suspect, he brings in Dismas Hardy for his defense. Hardy calls on his friend, former homicide detective Abe Glitsky, to look into the case.
Against a backdrop of conspiracy and corruption, ambiguous motives and suspicious alibis, an obsessed Glitsky closes in on the elusive truth.
