After 29 years, the iconic Walnut Creek Yacht Club is closing May 7th in downtown Walnut Creek. I remember sending my kids to their kids’ summer cooking classes which was outstanding. There will be a “Memorabilia & Wine Sale” on, “May 12–16, May 19–23 and May 26-30 we’ll be at WCYC packing up and selling memorabilia, wine, and merchandise at discounted prices.”

Last month we learned that Ananas Coffee would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek where CREAM used to be, and they are expected to open very soon, possible next week. Look for coffee from Zolo Coffee Roasters, and bread and pastries from ACME.
1521 Cypress St, Walnut Creek
Last month, we learned that Mr. Dewie’s Cashew Creamery, “free of dairy, gluten, and soy” would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek, and they have now opened. Check out their flavor menu here. And remember, this ice cream has, “no fillers, additives, preservatives, gums, or oils — truly homemade!”
This may be the longest I have waited to post after learning of a new opening. About ten years ago, I posted about F&M Bank coming to the former Target garden center in Walnut Creek, and it’s finally happening as you can see in the above photo. I wonder if this will be a relocation from their current downtown location on N. Broadway near Mt. Diablo Blvd?
