Last September we learned that Old Navy would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and they have now opened across from GAP. I believe this is the first time Old Navy has opened anywhere in Walnut Creek.

11:00am | FreeThe Tax March is a movement gaining momentum around the country to demand transparency and fairness from our Commander-in-Chief. Throughout his campaign, Donald Trump told the American people he would release his tax returns. Despite intense public pressure, President Trump has not yet done so – breaking with 40 years of precedent in the process. His administration’s excuse? “People don’t care.”
We do care. Without seeing his tax returns, we have no idea what he’s hiding – shady business deals? Financial ties to foreign countries? Conflicts of interest? – or who his policies are really benefitting.
On April 15, we’re marching on Washington and in communities across the country to send a clear message to Donald Trump: You work for us, and we demand answers.

Friday, March 31st – Sunday, April 23rd, 2017End of the Rainbow is the Tony Award nominated musical drama of Judy Garland’s comeback concerts during Christmas, 1968. With a six-week booking at London’s Talk of the Town, it looks like Judy is set firmly on the comeback trail. The failed marriages, the suicide attempts and the addictions are all behind her. At forty-six and with new flame Mickey Deans at her side, she seems determined to carry it off and recapture her magic. But lasting happiness always eludes some people, and there was never any answer to the question with which Judy ended every show: “If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh, why, can’t I?” End of the Rainbow is a savagely funny drama featuring a glorious ensemble of Judy Garland hits and infused with the glamour and the melancholy of stardom.
Running Time: approx. 2 hours, with one intermission
Spotted at the Broadway Plaza construction zone where presumably the new Apple store will be relocating to in downtown Walnut Creek. I find the juxtaposition of an interior door that wouldn’t be out of place in one’s home used on a roofless, fenced construction zone quite humorous.

Last month we learned that Amazon Books would be opening a physical branch (including a cafe!) in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and things are progressing as the “coming this fall” signage is up where Coach and the Go! Calendars – Games – Toys store used to be. This will be a great addition to Broadway Plaza as it’s not the usual fashion-related shop we’d normally see.
Agora at South Main, Walnut Creek
The restaurant Pacific Catch Westcoast Fish House is planning to open at the Agora at South Main apartment complex by the end of the year according to their operations coordinator. This is in the same complex where California Pizza Kitchen relocated to last summer. Check out their menu which features items like poke, sushi, fish & chips, salads, and sandwiches and more here.
