Thanks to a reader for sending word that earlier this month Open Barre Fitness Studio opened in the Walnut Creek Financial Plaza off Ygnacio Valley Rd. In addition to barre they also plan on offering yoga classes. Check out their pricing here.

We offer fun hour long classes (and 45-minute lunch classes) seven days per week at convenient times spread throughout the day. Classes are a mix of ballet, Pilates, weight training, and cardio! Our main mission as a studio is to allow you to be apart of a supportive community while providing you with all of the tools to reach your health and fitness goals. We also offer health coaching, and also sell cute fitness apparel in the studio. Privates are also offered at extremely affordable prices too!
Our instructors share a love and passion for barre and its’ benefits and can’t wait to share it with more and more people in the community. The signage is up for the eagerly anticipated tapas restaurant Teléferic Barcelona but there will be no December opening as that has been pushed back to January according to Diablo Dish which notes that there will be, “two bars, one outdoor on the main patio and one in the main dining area, as well as three dining areas”.

Confirmed trucks include Ceviche & Co., and Cousins Maine Lobster from Napa. This truck was featured on the ABC Show Shark Tank! Each truck will feature a tempting dessert option to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Way back in March of last year we learned about some scuttlebutt that the J.Crew-owned clothing store Madewell would be coming to Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and they have now opened.
1632 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
Honey Berry, a cafe that opened about a year ago and sold roti buns and ice cream among other things has closed in downtown Walnut Creek. Taking its place is a Persian bakery called Haleh Pastry Shop, from Campbell. Check out some photos of their baked goods here. I can’t wait to try this place!

3737 Valley Vista Rd, Walnut Creek
In September we learned that Valley Vista Tennis Club was slated to close by January and now word on the street is that they are being bought by Carondelet, an all-girls private Catholic high school in Concord which is currently doing due diligence. It looks like the plan is to tear out some tennis courts for a soccer/lacrosse field and possibly allow Valley Vista club members use of the courts during non-school hours.
Considering the club is not being sold to housing developers this looks like a positive development for members assuming they are allowed to use the courts, however, what will this mean for USTA players who are unable to use the overcrowded Heather Farm tennis courts?
