Just noticed that Lottie’s Creamery has a new sidewalk sign display up in downtown Walnut Creek. I had a scoop of apricot crumble, amazing as always.

8:00pm (Fri) 2:00pm (Sun) | Buy ticketsPassion, bitterness, jealousy and innocence all converge on a tragic collision course in one of Giuseppe Verdi’s most stirring operas, his masterful adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Othello.
Otello captures Verdi at the height of his powers, filling the music with equal measures of poetry and passion. Festival Opera is proud to celebrate Verdi’s 200th anniversary with this exceptional musical achievement, presented in co-production with Palo Alto’s West Bay Opera.
Thanks to a reader for noting there is some activity going on at the old Sakana Sushi restaurant which closed in December in Walnut Creek at Newell Square. Anyone know what’s going in here? Maybe a sushi place called Kana Sushi? 🙂
Back in January I noted that Arden B. was closing in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and now J.Jill will be moving from around the corner next to Crate & Barrel to this new location. The planned open date is July 18th. The new location is right on the main drag across from Banana Republic and next to J. Crew so this is a better location but what happens when Broadway Plaza closes to remodel?

Back in April I noted that the Berkeley-based ice cream shop CREAM would be opening this summer in Walnut Creek and this weekend I dropped by to check out the inside as work progresses. From what I hear it will be opening late July, early August.

In April I noted that the restaurant Vitality Bowls was coming to Walnut Creek and as of now they plan on opening late July according to the owner. They also have locations in San Ramon and Pleasanton where I recently tried my first vitality bowl which contains Acai blended with coconut milk, apple juice, bananas, strawberries, flax seed and topped with organic granola, bananas, strawberries, goji berries and honey. Check out their complete menu here. I really enjoyed it, would have this for dessert or breakfast again. They also offer sandwiches, salads and smoothies.
Spotted in front of Pyramid Alehouse in downtown Walnut Creek. Anyone know what model and year this is?
A couple of weeks ago I noted that Mancini’s Sleepworld was opening in the former Giggle baby store on N. Main St. in downtown Walnut Creek and of course that means their old location on Locust St. is closing. Since this space will be available what would you like to see?
