I’ve never heard of an egg hunt in a restaurant but they do have that back patio area, sounds like a cool idea.
One of the kiosks at the Liberty Bell Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek sells Folkmanis puppets (from Emeryville), and now there is a DIY puppet show stage and the Folkmanis kiosk will lend puppets so children can put on their own puppet show.
From the Liberty Bell Popup Plaza website:
Did you know that EVERY weekend in March, Popup Plaza is hosting DIY puppet shows? There’s a custom built stage available for kids (and adults) of all ages. Just stop by the Folkmanis Puppets popup and ask them about it. Folkmanis has puppets that they’ll lend you to put on your own show. What a great way to keep the kids entertained and take a break in the plaza!

Last December I noted the opening of the Wax Parlor on Cypress St. in downtown Walnut Creek, and now they have moved to a larger location a couple of stores down where Unveiled Bridal used to be at 1513 Cypress St.
Last week a Walnut Creek resident won a $33 million lotto jackpot after spending $5 on lottery tickets at the Heather Farm Shell Station in Walnut Creek. The Contra Costa Times reports that a man who was recently laid off and his wife who is a hair-dresser held the winning ticket and the woman is planning on going back to work while the man plans to start his own business.
Before taxes the lump-sum amount ends up being about $23 million, so after taxes let’s say $12 million. What would you do with that kind of money? Is it better to just not play the lottery and save the money one would spend on tickets? Considering the problems many people have after big winnings the safest thing to do is to pretend like nothing happened although that has to be hard to do.
Stores tend to expand or go out of business over time in Walnut Creek but Inge’s Footwear in downtown Walnut Creek is actually contracting to about half its size (to the left) and a new 2625 sf retail space will open up on the right side. According to a leasing page which you can check out here, it includes on site parking in the rear. I always thought this space was huge for Inge’s so this definitely makes sense for everyone involved I imagine.
Word on the street is that a salon will be opening up in the other spot.

Last month I noted that Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop was opening soon in Walnut Creek and now the signage is up at the N. Broadway and Ygnacio Valley Rd. location so it can’t be long before it’s open now. Thanks to a reader for pointing this out.
Last week I noted the closing of Colton Piano in downtown Walnut Creek on N. Main St. and now a kitchen and bath studio called “At Home with Baystone” will be opening up in this location soon.
