Over three years ago the online thrift store ThredUp opened at Broadway Pointe in downtown Walnut Creek. Less than a year later, they relocated a few blocks away to a smaller spot on N. Main. As you can see from the lease sign in the above photo, they have permanently closed. Their online shop remains open here.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
In August, we learned that Neiman Marcus, which opened to much fanfare over eight years ago at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, was expected to close, and that time has come as they are now permanently closed. I’m going to miss those popovers but their San Francisco and Palo Alto locations remain open as noted in the sign below.
At the Broadway Plaza escalators in Walnut Creek are signs that say, “WAIT FOR SHOPPERS TO PASS THE BLUE LINE”. I must be missing something completely obvious because I don’t get it. How does waiting for people to pass the blue line help, considering there is no other line to wait from?

A couple of years ago we learned that Joe & the Juice would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek where D. Delucchi Fine Jewelry used to be, and although that doesn’t look that’s going to happen, the new building looks like it’s going to be a nice addition to downtown. I wonder what’s going to open there?
1639 Bonanza St, Walnut Creek
Although temporarily closed due to COVID-19, Portland-based Bishops Cuts & Color, which opened a couple of years ago in downtown Walnut Creek, is now known as Prep. “Born in San Francisco, parent-friendly, we are a new type of urban hair studio.” Check out their services here.
