Broadway Plaza Parking Garage, Walnut Creek

Bring your blankets and lawn chairs if your prefer to watch outside, or stay cozied up in your vehicle. Masks must be worn at all times when outside of your vehicle. The movie’s audio will be aired over an FM radio station – channel to be provided upon entering the viewing area.
1380 N. California, Walnut Creek
Check out the progress on the 1380 N. California condo and retail project in downtown Walnut Creek where McDonald’s used to be. It’s hard to tell from the photo but that is one deep hole which will house about 150 underground parking spots. Above will be mixed use development with over 110 condos and about 15,000 sq. ft. of retail and restaurant space. In the building at left, back is where Swan’s Fine Books used to be. According to this NBC Bay Area News article, “armed security guards hired by anti-abortion activists pepper-sprayed counter protesters” at the Walnut Creek Planned Parenthood center yesterday. I’ve driven by these protesters many times in the past and it was always empty around there. I wonder how this escalated?

Movie Theaters across Contra Costa have recently reopened including Century Movie Theater in downtown Walnut Creek. According to posted signs, face masks are required, “throughout the theatre”. I was somewhat tempted to check out Tenet and if I were much younger I probably would have, but for now, I’ll wait.
