Last December we learned that Scout & Molly’s Boutique was closing in downtown Walnut Creek and now Riki Dalal Bridal House has opened in this spot.

Palos Verdes Mall, Walnut Creek
Last year we learned that Kuki’s Ice Cream Cakes closed at the Palos Verdes mall in Walnut Creek with Taqueria La Plaza “coming soon”. As you can see in the above photo the signage is up but no word yet on when they will open.
Agora at South Main, Walnut Creek
According to the latest city permit information The Shade Store is coming to downtown Walnut Creek in the Agora at South Main apartment complex, right next to Pacific Catch. The Shade store opened a couple of months ago in Lafayette. Check out their online gallery here.

Ygnacio Plaza, Walnut Creek
A new store called Coming Soon is coming to Ygnacio Plaza in Walnut Creek. OK, kidding, I just thought this is a funny sign to have up where the actual name is all but invisible. Palos Verdes Mall, Walnut Creek
A new children’s open art studio called Lemon Blossom Creations opened recently at the Palos Verdes mall in Walnut Creek. In addition to a drop-in open studio they also offer kids’ parties, events and summer camps. Check out all options here. Thanks to a reader for emailing about this.

Lemon Blossom Creations is owned and operated by Melissa Karakash and Dora Chacon. Ever since they became friends they started helping each other organize and host parties for their friends and families. Often these parties entailed Melissa using her sewing and craft skills to customize decorations. Dora planned activities for the children who attended their parties. She developed an array of games and crafts to entertain children due to her past experience of being a nanny. Their combined love of children and creating parties sparked their interest in children’s party planning. Together Melissa and Dora designed these themed parties to give children a memorable and magical birthday.

Thanks to a reader for sending word about a new restaurant called Manakish Oven & Grill coming to Walnut Creek at the corner of N. Main St. and Geary Rd. where Bee & Tea used to be. According to Wikipedia manakish is, “a popular Levantine [Eastern Mediterranean] food consisting of dough topped with thyme, cheese, or ground meat. Similar to a pizza, it can be sliced or folded, and it can be served either for breakfast or lunch.” Check out their website here.
