According to the latest leasing information Modern Acupuncture is coming to Ygnaico Plaza in Walnut Creek where Fashion Knit used to be.
From their website:
What makes a practice that is thousands of years old, modern? For Modern Acupuncture, it’s in the delivery. From the moment you walk through our door, all five senses encounter an environment of relaxation and healing. Natural, earthy colors wash over you. The soft lighting allows your eyes to relax. It’s quiet. The silence brings peace. If you’re a first timer, you will be given a tablet that will walk you through what to expect during your visit. An understanding of the process is crucial for a true escape into healing. Our licensed acupuncturists are trained to guide you through each treatment to ensure your peace of mind.

It’s been weeks since the downtown Walnut Creek Greek restaurant Pomegranate has been open due to, “staff training”. I remember how proud the previous owner was about their pomegranate trees in front of the restaurant. I know there is a new owner but how much longer do we have to wait for this to reopen?

1523 Giammona Dr, Walnut Creek
It’s been over a year since we first learned about Tozai Izakaya opening in downtown Walnut Creek and the wait will soon be over as they soft open next Thursday on January 3rd. Compared to Ramen Hiroshi (same owners), this spot is way more spacious. Considering how much I enjoy the ramen there (especially in the East Bay), I can’t wait to try the food here as well!

Last week we learned that Torsap Thai Kitchen would be opening in downtown Walnut Creek where Sunol Ridge used to be and they have now opened. The warm yet modern looking inside feels amazing and with a menu designed by San Francisco-based chef Lalita Souksamlane (see menu here) I look forward to trying these dishes out! Check out more photos below including an amazing gold-leaf embellished mural in front. Note that they plan to serve beer from the taps left over from Sunol Ridge which won’t be available until they get their ABC state license.

More photos of the inside after the jump…

McDonald’s closed almost four years ago in downtown Walnut Creek and as you can see from the above photo demolition has taken place and a new mixed-use 5 story development is being built with over 10,000 sf of retail shops and close to 100 apartments, some of them being “flexible-use studios”. Look for this to be completed by the end of next year!
