On November 16, the best of the Bay Area’s independent crafters and artisans will share their work at the hugely popular Bedford Craft Fest, now in its twelfth year. This carefully curated marketplace is a holiday season staple for unique handmade gifts, from jewelry and food to home goods. Our festive celebration features the Bay Area’s top maker talent, with a prominence of East Bay artisans and an additional mix of vendors from San Francisco, Sacramento and San Jose. This year, visitors will also have the delight of experiencing the mouthwatering exhibition, Off Menu, which features artists who work in a range of media to depict the objects of our culinary desire.

E.J. Phair Brewing Company Opens Pub at Alamo Plaza

E.J. Phair Brewing Company, with locations in Concord and Pittsburg, opened a pub recently at Alamo Plaza. Check out the nice patio section on the side in the photo below.

Dave & Buster’s Opens at The Veranda in Concord

The Veranda, Concord

Last month the giant entertainment center Dave & Buster’s opened in the Veranda shopping center where Toys “R” Us used to be. It’s very similar to Round 1 in the Sunvalley mall, also in Concord. The dining section is much bigger, there are pool tables but no ping pong nor karaoke rooms. I noticed they have a VR section with chairs that move in rhythm to the experiences which looks interesting. Bring your eag plugs because it’s loud, just like Round 1. And good luck with parking! One time I had to park on the street due to the parking situation.

Question of the Day – Do you Like the New BART Trains?

The new BART trains have been on the tracks for a while now, although I rarely seem to get one when I ride. The new features are explained in depth here. Although there is much less seating, I like the middle third door which makes it much easier when exiting. Do you like the new BART trains? Is there anything you don’t like about the new trains?

In July we saw the progress of the apartment complex 1716 Lofts in downtown Walnut Creek and it’s now completed, with a ribbon cutting ceremony happening tomorrow, October 18th. Fire Wings Opens at The Shops at Todos Santos in Concord

The Shops at Todos Santos, Concord

Yesterday we learned that BurgerIM opened at The Shops at Todos Santos in Concord and Fire Wings opened as well, right next door. Check out their menu here. There is a wraparound patio out front and to the side, with plenty of outdoor seating.
