Last year, we learned that a beautiful downtown Walnut Creek tree ceased to exist, leaving only a stump in its place. Alas, as seen in the above forlorn photo, tree and stump are no more, replaced by hopeful ground cover that looks like it could be a nice host for a new tree. Possibly when construction of the building in back has been completed?
