1631 Willow Pass Rd, Concord
The Brazilian steakhouse Brasas Do Brazil Churrascaria has opened where Mimi’s Cafe used to be on Willow Pass Rd. in Concord near the Park & Shop shopping center. Initially they’ll be open for lunch and later in the week they’re planning to open for dinner as well. Check for updates on their Facebook page here. The inside is very spacious to make room for the meat carts that pass by. I’ve never been to a Brazilian steakhouse before but on the tables next to each place setting are two cards; a green “Yes, Please” one and one in red, “no, thank you”. That way the person manning the cart will know whether to carve and serve you the meat dish. There is also a big self-serve salad bar in the middle and in the back is a separate space that can be reserved for parties etc. I look forward to trying this place out!

2035 Salvio St, Concord
Thanks to a reader for pointing out that Mom’s Touch Chicken & Burger, which opened near Todos Santos Plaza in Concord, has closed. According to a sign in the window a new restaurant with a different name will also be serving chicken sandwiches. I wonder how close in taste it’ll be to the Mom’s Touch sandwiches?
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
In May we learned that Lovesac would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and the “Opening Summer 2018” signage is now up. Check out their bean bag chair selection here and modular furniture system called sactionals here. I checked out their showroom in San Francisco recently and was impressed with the bean bag chairs. They are HUGE!
