Talented artists will perform throughout the day featuring traditional Mexican songs as well as salsa, Latin Jazz, Latin Rock, Pop, and other Latin rhythms.
Last year, over 65 vendors participated in providing their delicious, diverse foods, showcasing their arts and crafts and empowering the multi-cultural community through greater awareness of their products and services.
Park & Shop, Concord
Bonjour Bakery & Cafe, which opened a few years ago in the Park & Shop shopping center in Concord and served Japanese/Korean-style baked goods, has closed. A sign in the windows points to a new bakery opening called Casa del Affajor. According to this Wikipedia article:
An alfajor is a traditional confection found in Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, El Salvador, Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Spain, Paraguay, Venezuela, Southern Brazil, and the Philippines. Towne Center, Lafayette
For the last few years we’ve been following the progress of the Towne Center condominiums in downtown Lafayette next to the BART station and as you can see in the above photo it looks basically finished. According to the website it’s priced from $949,000 – $1,188,252. Check out the nine floor plans here.

Robert Dekkers new ballet, Red Shoes, is an imaginative interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen’s timeless fairy tale. Set to the thrilling score by Academy Award nominated composer Philip Glass, the ballet explores the birth, evolution, and ultimate demise of the ego. Red Shoes will feature costumes designed by celebrity fashion designer, Cassidy Haley, who has created for P!nk and Fergie to name a few.
Crossroads of Danville
Thanks to a reader for sending word… The Filipino restaurant Sig’s Little Kitchen soft opened at the Crossroads of Danville shopping center on San Ramon Valley Blvd. Check out the menu in the photo below. I look forward to trying this place out!
