After over eight years, Veggie Grill has closed in downtown Walnut Creek. Interestingly, the mailbox visible in the above photo didn’t exist when the restaurant first opened. This location used to be a post office so I imagine they needed to put a mailbox in its place?

Citibank is coming to Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center where Hallmark used to be.

In April, Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy, so it’s not surprising their Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center location is closing. I dropped by a couple of weeks ago and many things were only 20% off, with not much available anyway.

It’s still possible to see the arched entrance to the San Francisco Dugout store, which closed over three years ago in downtown Walnut Creek, which has been bricked over for the Crate & Barrel move across the street from their current, temporary spot in the former Neiman Marcus building.
