8:00amSan Francisco’s Alaska Airlines Bay to Breakers is an annual footrace operated by Wasserman Events and has run continuously for over 100 years as a staple to the City by the Bay. With a starting point near the San Francisco Bay, a few blocks from The Embarcadero, the 12K race runs west through the city and finishes at the Great Highway where breakers crash onto the Pacific Coast’s Ocean Beach. A quintessential San Francisco experience since 1912, the race is interwoven into the fabric of the city and is a true reflection and celebration of life between the breakers and the Bay.

Victory Workspace, formerly known as Laptop Lounge, is relocating from their N. California Blvd space to Locust St, right next to Century Theater in downtown Walnut Creek. According to a sign in the window they expect to open in June. A couple of months ago they opened a second location in Danville in the historic Shuey Podva house on Hartz. Ave.
Back in the olden days, i.e. before cell phones included a camera, everyone used dedicated cameras. There were Polaroid instant cameras, point and shoot cameras with 35mm film, and of course bigger cameras with interchangeable lens. Now most cameras are digital but since it’s possible to take photographs with your camera, there is less reason to lug around a separate camera. Do you use a dedicated camera? Does the quality make it worthwhile to lug around? At times I think about getting a camera especially as summer rolls around and trips are getting planned, but I always end up using my iPhone and am generally happy with the results, although miss the bokeh.

According to a recent ABC permit report a restaurant called La Estrellita #2 will be coming to the Twin Canyon Shopping Center in San Ramon where Sushi House currently is. According to a chef there they will remain open for a few more months. Stay tuned…
A few months ago we learned that the pond at Blackhawk Plaza in Danville was drained and the ducks did not look happy at all. Happily, when I stopped by recently the pond has been refilled and the ducks look like they’re having a blast. Yay! 🙂

This will be a 5K (3.1miles) walk around scenic Heather Farm Park for friends and families to celebrate and honor all of those who have been touched by cancer and raise critical funds to support CSC’s free, comprehensive services and programs that benefit local cancer patients and their families.

The high-end women’s consignment boutique Consignit Couture is closing their original location in Danville by the end of July as Starbucks will be expanding into this spot on Hartz Ave. The Walnut Creek Consignit Couture, which opened a few years ago, will remain open.
