At the beginning of the year we learned that the owners of Gusto and Locanda Positano in San Carlos would be opening a new Italian restaurant called Locanda Ravello in Danville this spring and they are expected to open very soon, probably by this weekend. Check for updates on their Facebook page here.
From their website:
An Amalfi Coast pizzeria is coming to downtown Danville from the same people who brought you Gusto and Locanda Positano in San Carlos!
Featuring Neopolitan pizza, pasta, and bar. Look for our Grand Opening soon!
Apple Store, Walnut Creek
Over the weekend I was walking in downtown Walnut Creek when I noticed a protest in front of the Apple store. According to the sign this looks like a labor dispute protest about how Apple is not requiring a construction company to pay stand wages and benefits “on all projects all the time”. My seven year old son was mesmerized by the grim reaper below. He literally was frozen staring at it until I motioned him inside to play some app games on an iPad.

From the Walnut Creek PD:
On 8/2/15 at approx. 1322 hours, an astute citizen saw a wanted suspect in the San Miguel Shopping Center at 1270 Newell Avenue. The suspect, James G. Beldin (3/17/63), was wanted by Concord PD for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. In addition, Beldin was a parolee at large and a sex offender registrant. Walnut Creek PD officers conducted an area check and located Beldin’s vehicle in the parking lot. Walnut Creek PD officers then observed Beldin near the intersection of Broadway and Newell Avenue and took him into custody after a brief foot pursuit. Officers also learned Beldin had earlier attempted to photograph the undergarments of a female wearing a skirt in downtown Walnut Creek.
Walnut Creek PD and Concord PD will work cooperatively to bring criminal charges against Beldin.
Please contact the WCPD at 925-943-5844 if you have any information regarding additional crimes the suspect may have committed.
