Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Thanks to a reader for pointing out this SF Business Times article that mentioned Boca Pizzeria is planning on opening a third location in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek after the renovation is completed. Check out Boca’s lunch/dinner menu here. This will bring the total pizza restaurants near the Broadway Plaza area to three along with soon-to-open Project Pie and California Pizza Kitchen. Nice to see some new pizza options over there!
From their website:
Boca Pizzeria is an Italian inspired Pizzeria utilizing the abundance of Northern California’s seasonal ingredients, while showcasing local micro breweries and wine country’s boutique varietals. Boca Pizzeria has always been our little neighborhood gem we had in mind for years, where we can dine with our friends, family and loved ones.
Our pizzas are authentic Neapolitan style, which cooks for no more than 2 minutes in a 900 degree Italian wood burning oven, is made from double milled 00 Caputo flour. Our sauce is made of the finest San Marzano tomatoes imported from Italy. We make house-made mozzarella cheese daily.
I finally got around to completing a revamped design with a new background header, cleaner logo, new tagline and different overall theme. Overall it should still function the same as always. Thanks to those who provided feedback. One of the suggested taglines was “From Fish Ranch to the Foothills” which I changed to “From the Caldecott to the Diablo Foothills”. If anyone is encountering any problems or has suggestions on how to improve the new design please add a comment or email me at adam [at] beyondthecreek.com thanks!

Last week I passed by the Hot Dog Palace across from Todos Santos Plaza in Concord which reminded me of last week’s sign of the day and now I have an urge to eat a great hot dog. What’s your favorite hot dog or sausage place?

Last November when the Heather Farm all abilities playground opened in Walnut Creek I posted about the popularity of the “climbing” hills that were used to slide down with cardboard boxes and pointed out the danger of hitting one of the boulders placed right near the hills. Based on a recent visit it looks like a few of the boulders have been removed which should improve the safety as kids slide down.
Of all the playgrounds this is my favorite one, lots to do!
