A couple of weeks ago I noted that the fashion accessories store Bracchiale would be relocating within Broadway Plaza and they are now open. Be aware that this section of Broadway Plaza looks like it will be closing in January so this is a short-lived move.

Last year in August I noted that new townhomes were being built at the old Hungry Hunter restaurant at the corner of Mt. Diablo Blvd. and Pleasant Hill Rd. in Lafayette and construction is almost complete with the townhomes available for move-in later this month.
From the Taylor Morrison website:
Come explore this limited opportunity of 23 townhome-styled residences in one of the Bay Area’s most sought-after communities. Just like the city of Lafayette, the new homes at Marquis reflect the natural beauty of the surrounding area while providing the modern conveniences of a new home. From the contemporary craftsman exteriors, to the spacious floorplans and tempting amenities, these traditional, low-maintenance residences provide an oasis from the hustle and bustle of life. Boasting 4 bedrooms, including a downstairs bedroom & full bath per plan, the home designs range from approximately 1,964 to 2,074 square feet of living space.
Prices range from high 700s to low 800s. Check out the townhomes for sale here. Floor plans are available here.

Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address!John J. Fitzpatrick, Jr., Esq. joins us to provide people with a greater appreciation and understanding of the immortal Gettysburg Address in the context of the pivotal Battle of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in July 1863.
*Fitzpatrick will discuss the enormous personal, political and policy pressures impacting President Lincoln as he prepared the speech and when he presented it some four and one-half months after that battle.
*How did a careworn, concerned and conflicted President Lincoln, in the midst of the great American Civil War with no end in sight, who was not chosen as the keynote speaker, prepare and present his short, two-minute speech?
*How were those pressures actually played out in the Gettysburg Address?
*What were his purposes and how did he achieve them?

Back in July I noted that Lafayette-based Oyama Sushi was coming to Walnut Creek and it looks like the opening is not far away as the inside looks almost finished judging from the below photo.
The women’s fashion boutique Alina B is leaving Broadway Plaza by January and is looking for a new location under 1000 square feet so if anyone knows a spot for them please contact them. Their Facebook page is here. Also, everything in their store is currently 20% off.

The store closings are continuing apace in Broadway Plaza and this time Häagen-Dazs, located next to Macy’s has exited. With winter approaching I imagine this is probably as a good a time as ever for an ice cream store to leave due to the impending demolition and reconstruction of Broadway Plaza sometime after January.
