All American Signs has closed their Walnut Creek location along with that giant fish tank in their window on N. Main St. in downtown Walnut Creek. Their Dublin location is still open. Check out their website here.
I saw this in downtown Walnut Creek and thought of this article about baby wigs.

Lafayette Reservoir
I remember scrambling for change too many times while parking at the Lafayette Reservoir over the years so it’s nice to see a new lot and meters that accept credit cards. The metered spots run $1.50 per hour, max 2 hours and there is also separate parking for those with annual passes. That being said I now park on Mt. Diablo Blvd. for free and just walk or run up as it’s so close by.
Moraga Way, Orinda
In May of last year I noted that “The Old Yellow House” was getting remodeled and it’s progressing nicely as you can see in the photo above. It’s located on Moraga Way so plenty of people see this house every day driving through Orinda. According to the developer’s Facebook page they will be back to finish this house sometime this summer. I look forward to seeing this when it’s completed.

The Barbacoa outdoor lounge area at Orinda Theatre Square looks great. In addition to the fire pit there are tables shaded by huge umbrellas to the right.
1345 Locust Street, Walnut Creek
Back last January I posted about the Diablo Actors’ Ensemble Theatre in downtown Walnut Creek on Locust St. next to Peet’s and I just noticed that it has closed. It turns out that it closed in May according to the Contra Costa Times:
The jewel box of a theater, home to Diablo Actors’ Ensemble for the past five years and Lois Grandi’s Playhouse West for 13 years before that, will close at the end of May. The property at 1345 Locust St. has been sold, and the new owner envisions a restaurant where the theater, the Paint Palette and The Bead Store currently reside.
