Bare Escentuals has been rebranded as bareMinerals in Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek. According to an employee I spoke with they are now focusing on their bareMinerals line of cosmetics. The new signage looks great. bareMinerals is located at 1237 Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek.

When Diablo Dish mentioned an East Coast style pizza joint that recently opened in Walnut Creek I knew I had to check it out. Located next to Las Lomas High School in Walnut Creek on S. Main St, when I visited it was pretty packed. It’s been open since March, and it turns out the owner is originally from near Philadelphia and offers genuine hoagies AKA sub sandwiches in addition to New York style pizza. Check out their menu here. As much as I love the pizza at Pizza Antica in Lafayette I do miss regular New York style pizza every now and then so I’ll be back to try a slice or two. Any fans of this place? How are the hoagies?
Now that’s a pizza!
Pancoast Pizza is located at 1516 S. Main St. in Walnut Creek next to Las Lomas High School.

Dear Creekville,
Any chance you could do a post about area Santas? Would love to hear your opinion about which one we should take our daughter to go visit. I’m curious to know myself.
Apart from the Broadway Plaza Santa in Walnut Creek (photo studio) I’m stumped, anyone know where the Santas are around here?
What: Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show ( with Will Durst)
Where: Lesher Center for the Arts, Walnut Creek
When: December 29th, 2012, 8pm
From the Lesher Center for the Arts:
The Big Fat Year End Kiss Off Comedy Show is celebrating it’s Twentieth Year of bringing laughter to the masses!
Helmed by America’s premier political comedian Will Durst, it is a night of rollicking humor combining stand-up comedy, improvisation, and loosely written sketches lampooning the events of 2012.
In addition to the Habit Burger Grill and Freebirds World Burrito, Subway will soon be open in the Sprouts shopping center in Walnut Creek at the corner of N. Main. St. and Geary Blvd. The only remaining store without signage up yet is Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf on the other side of Supercuts.
Props to the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce for putting on a fun little event right downtown with live music and free cookies two weekends ago. There was even a magic show at the nearby Storyteller Bookstore.
From the Lafayette Chamber blog:
Today was the first-ever Lafayette Chamber “Home for the Holidays” event. Thanks to the many people who attended the puppet show at The Storyteller Bookstore to the many who stopped for cookies — and to hear Town Hall Theatre youth performers and Dave Crimmen’s singing rock-n-roll, it was a great event!
Back in November I noted that the women’s clothing store Francesca’s Collections would be opening in downtown Lafayette at the Clocktower on Mt. Diablo Blvd. and as you can see by the large poster in the window it looks like progress is well under way although it would have been nice if they could have opened before Christmas. Better late than never.
