Downtown Walnut Creek has plenty of pizzerias:
and Lafayette shall not be forgotten:
So the Friday Question of the Day is about pizza. Everyone loves pizza right? Well, almost everyone I imagine. As much as I love the atmosphere at Skipolini’s or Pinky’s, if we’re going on taste I’m going to have to go with Pizza Antica in Lafayette hands down.
So what is your favorite pizza joint in Walnut Creek or Lafayette? If I’ve missed any please comment and I’ll add them in as well.

Walnut Creek has been planning on selling a parking lot located at Mt. Diablo Blvd. and N. Main St. for a while now. They have already received buyer proposals which are under evaluation and in February it will be discussed at the city council. Although the lot is rather small, it doesn’t get more prime than this; this is truly the heart of downtown Walnut Creek, across the street from Tiffany’s, and diagonally across from the new Neiman Marcus store.
Does anyone want to take a guess at how much this could go for? Does anyone have opinions on this one way or the other?
The Broadway Plaza Concierge in downtown Walnut Creek is located right next to Macy’s. According to the sign they offer gift cards, restrooms, wifi, a lounge area, and a nursing lounge. It’s also the place to go to rent children’s shopping cars. When I’ve been it’s always very clean and comfortable. Much more spacious than the old concierge from a few years ago. Many times they play children’s movies on the big screen tv to entertain the little ones. Anyone else enjoy this place?
This is a great idea for those who don’t want the long-term commitment. From the Craigslist ad:
Fosters needed for 8 baby kittens… about 4-6 weeks old. They do not all have to go to the same foster, we could split them into two groups of 4 so they are more manageable.
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit, all-rescue, volunteer group helping homeless and abandoned kitties in your community. But to help those kitties, we need foster homes desperately! We get calls everyday, but we don’t have enough foster space for all of them.
What is required of you? Food, water, litter, love, a safe place for them to live, and bringing them to our Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, or Lafayette adoption sites on the weekends when they are old enough (about 8 weeks old).
What do we do to help? I would be your main contact and would answer any questions you have and I will work to find them good, safe, and loving homes. Our rescue group will take care of the vaccinations, testing, spay/neuter and othe misc. medical.
Want to help but can’t foster? We always welcome donations– financial to help cover medical costs, food, litter, bedding, toys, carriers, litter boxes, and other supplies. We also have a Thrift Shop, called Rescued Treasures near DVC where you can donate gently used items, shop, or volunteer your time.
Please e-mail me if you can help. Highschool students can receive commnity service hours for fostering!!! This is a nice way to have the joy of kittens without the 20-year commitment.

Mel’s Diner – Walnut Creek
Hubcaps Diner – Walnut Creek
Both Hubcaps (menu) and Mel’s Diner (menu) are located within walking distance of each other in downtown Walnut Creek. Mel’s offers music jukeboxes to listen to. Hubcaps is decorated with automotive paraphernalia to please both children and adults alike. I tend to go to Hubcaps and usually get the Polish sausage with cole slaw. Which one do you prefer?
Note: This is not the living room!
