Did you know Walnut Creek has a harp store?! According to their website www.harpsetc.com they offer a free “Try the Harp Class” on the third Saturday of every month. Sounds interesting to say the least.

It’s that time of year again, ice skating in downtown Walnut Creek, beginning November 11, 2011 through January 16, 2012. Check out their website www.iceskatewalnutcreek.com for updates on lessons and booking parties. The location is great, right next to Civic park and the library, within walking distance to downtown. So you can skate and then head on down to La Scala for some hot cocoa.
Seen at the 5 Little Monkeys store on N. Main St. The note says:

This is the side door of restaurant Sasa, possibly the coolest door in all of downtown Walnut Creek. The whole building is really quite beautiful.
Word on the street is the restaurant Harvest Market, next to Babalou’s and McCovey’s has closed. I took a look today and it was closed during lunchtime with no sign of construction going on.
Don’t forget the Lafayette Reservoir Run is this Sunday. From their website:
The Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lafayette are co-sponsors of the Run which is traditionally held on the last Sunday in October. Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber.
The Lafayette Reservoir Run is the city’s most popular “family affair”, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. 2200-2500 participants compete in a 10k or 5k Certified Runs and a 2 mile run/walk for fun through the heart of the downtown, around the reservoir and back. Sprinters, walkers, the “stroller brigade” and many of Lafayette’s top four legged residents share the streets on that festive Sunday morning.
Located in front of Kara’s Cupcakes on N. Main St.
Hanna’s Bags, located across the street from Prima Ristorante on N. Main St. is moving down the block according to owner Farouk. They’re still deciding between two potential spots. Has anyone shopped here? I must have walked by this street hundreds of times and never noticed it before. I believe the French clothing store Jeu De Jupe used to be here.
From a sign at Broadway Plaza:

Trick-or-Treat at Broadway PlazaJoin us for some safe and spooky fun this Halloween!
Fill your favorite treat bag with goodies from all participating stores while supplies last.
The past few years I’ve been I can say this is a popular event. Most merchants participate but some run out of candy so get there early when it’s less crowded. Many stores also participate in downtown Walnut Creek as well so check out Locust St. and N. Main St. nearby.
