Fancy Pants, the boutique women’s clothing and accessories shop, which was located on Cypress St. in downtown Walnut Creek has closed. Interestingly, the For Rent sign notes that the place rents for $1800, anyone interested?
OK, so the door may not be anything special, but check out the door handles.
These cool looking door handles are on the Labels consignment store at 1367 N. Main St. in Walnut Creek. Nice touch.
Filthy Gorgeous has moved quite a bit around Walnut Creek, recently having a prime spot on N. Main St. However, they have now moved to Broadway Plaza, right next to Boudin Bakery. It’s nicely decorated, but I wonder how this location will do.
Cypress, located at 1388 Locust St. in downtown Walnut Creek, opened on September 6, taking the place of Vesu, which closed rather quickly. The remodel on the outside that Vesu did originally is quite cool, and last night you could see a pianist playing right through the curved glass floor-to-ceiling windows. It was a packed and lively scene despite being a weekday.
Interestingly the protest took place on Main St. (and Mt. Diablo Blvd.) so the sign is pretty accurate.
By 6:30 pm when these photos were taken, most of the protesters had already left, with only about 10 remaining on the four corners. According to one of the protesters, they believe there were less protesters today because the location kept changing (last week it was at the Walnut Creek Bart station), and there will be another protest this Saturday. She had positive things to say about the Walnut Creek police; quite different from what’s happening in nearby Oakland.
For those who waited to sign up for the 2011 Gourmet Easy Bay event on Saturday, November 5, unfortunately it’s sold out. Although they mention it’s possible to get on the waitlist, it looks like that option is now gone as well.
It runs from 7 – 10 pm in Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek and features top restaurants from around the East Bay. From the sponsor’s website:

We’re thrilled to announce this year’s entertainment will be provided by Northern California’s premier party band, Pop Fiction. From Donna Summer to Journey to Lady Gaga and everything in between, Pop Fiction delivers non-stop dance hits and packs dance floors wherever they go.

Located in the Montecito, adjacent to Alma park and in the heart of Walnut Creek, this lovely downtown condo is just steps from the east bays best shopping, dinning, and entertainment . The Montecito was constructed in 2002 and this unit was first sold in 2004. The prior owner completed a minor remodel with wood (laminate) in the entry and kitchen, granite counter tops and stainless appliances.
As it is currently occupied by a tenant in the move-out process, it will be available to show in mid-November with occupancy available December 1st. Unfortunately, there aren’t pictures of the actually unit interior, but the photos shown are of the same floor plan with nearly identical upgrades.
These apartments are next to Alma park and walkable to downtown but I’d be concerned about noise from 680.
Located right next to last week’s bench of the day, this one is directly in front of Main St. Rags. Not only is it a bench, there are flowers growing underneath to boot. Pretty cool.
