This week the San Francisco Board of Education voted to rename 44 schools, including Abraham Lincoln High School and George Washington High School. Also to be renamed are schools named for John Muir, Thomas Jefferson, Dianne Feinstein and others. Do you agree with all, some or none of the school being renamed?
The Covid-19 has been highkey* terrible the past year and I can’t wait for it to be over. However, there have been a few positive things that came about. Over the summer I pointed out that baguette bags now fully cover the baguette. Another thing I noticed recently is how much cleaner Safeway baskets are. Before Covid, they used to be absolutely disgusting, like they hadn’t been washed in years. They seem to be way cleaner now, and for that, I’m grateful.
*Did I use that term correctly? I’m trying to expand my slang usage to keep up with the younger generation.

Danville Hotel Town Center
The Peasant & The Pear, the first of Rodney Worth’s restaurants, has relocated to Danville Hotel Town Center where Pizza Antica used to be and is now open. Check out their menu here.

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Thanks to a reader for pointing out that GODIVA, which opened over four years ago at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, is closing by Valentine’s Day, along with all other physical locations in North America. I’ll miss their soft-serve ice cream. 🍦

Over three years ago the online thrift store ThredUp opened at Broadway Pointe in downtown Walnut Creek. Less than a year later, they relocated a few blocks away to a smaller spot on N. Main. As you can see from the lease sign in the above photo, they have permanently closed. Their online shop remains open here.
