The Indian restaurant Curry Blvd. will be closing next month in Lafayette and as you can see in the photo below a new Indian restaurant will be taking its place called Naan Curry. Note that this isn’t the chain Naan n Curry. Check out their website here.
1389 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
The Greek restaurant Pomegranate, which had been closed for weeks due to “staff training”, has finally closed, replaced with a “FOR LEASE” sign. It looks like the new owners couldn’t make it work unfortunately as I enjoyed many meals here. At least the pomegranate tree remains in front, for now.
1291 Parkside Dr, Walnut Creek
Thanks to a reader for sending word that a new dim sum restaurant, appropriate called Creek House Dim Sum Restaurant, opened recently in Walnut Creek next to Kinder’s on Parkside Dr. Check out their menu here. I believe this is the only dim sum restaurant in Walnut Creek, or are there others?
1375 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek
Thanks to a reader for pointing out that the Oakland-based Vietnamese restaurant Le Cheval will be closing in February. Their Oakland location will remain open. Look for a new restaurant called Burma Unique to open here after they close.
1506 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
The anticipation of the sushi roll restaurant Roll House opening in downtown Walnut Creek has been going on for a while but the latest look shows backwards progress with brown paper covering the storefront. According to an email from a reader the boba tea cafe Sinceretea will be opening here instead. Although the pending transfer of ownership sign is gone, there is a post on the Sinceretea Facebook page indicating they are coming to Walnut Creek, so stay tuned… And they offer mochi egg puffs! Check out their menu here. If this opens I think Downtown Walnut Creek will have the most number of boba cafes in its history! iTea, T4, Chalogy and Mr. Green Bubble are already here. Town Bakery & Cafe opened last year in Moraga and they are planning to offer beer and wine once they get their alcohol license. Check out their breakfast, brunch and lunch menus on their website here. In addition to coffee, drinks and pastries they also offer dinner Tuesday through Friday.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that The Original Pancake House closed in Pleasant Hill. According to their website they are temporarily closed. This is a franchise location and according to an email from headquarters, the “owner has not yet decided”.
Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center
The chicken sandwich shop The Organic Coup which opened in the summer of 2016 in the Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center, has closed.

In September we learned that Bollinger Nail Salon would be relocating across the street near Todos Santos Plaza in Concord and they have now reopened. Check out their services here.
1941 Oak Park Blvd, Pleasant Hill
In October we learned that plant based Rooted Coffee Co. would be opening a cafe in Pleasant Hill and they have now opened. Check out their menu here. In addition to drinks they also offer waffles, toasts and parfaits. Thanks to a reader for emailing about the opening.
