Last year we learned that the clothing store Vineyard Vines would be coming to the new development at 1500 Mt. Diablo Blvd. in downtown Walnut Creek, and the pink whale signage is now visible on the windows. This is the same building where the pizzeria Slice House is planning on opening early 2016.
35 Lafayette Cir, Lafayette
The bakery Cake. in La Fiesta Square in downtown Lafayette has closed. They opened over three years ago and I enjoyed their baked goods so it’s disappointing to see them go.
3604 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette
The popup clothing store The Cashmere Sale is coming to downtown Lafayette (previously in Danville and Alamo) and will be open from October 24th through December 5th.

Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
The men’s shoe store Allen Edwards is coming to Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek. According to my source it’s not clear whether they’ll open in the initial first phase this November. Stay tuned…

Moraga Farmers Market
A new food truck called Lovin’ from the Oven, “featuring fresh baked quiches, croissants, sticky buns and more” recently started selling their goods at the Moraga farmers market. From the menu below they also sell pies.
Orinda Theatre Square, Orinda
A new shop called Sanvitalia Home & Garden is opening on November 1st in Orinda Theatre Square.

The furniture store Arhaus is coming to the backside of Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek according to a recent report by the Design Review Commission report. Check out the other stores coming in November here. Also, YOGASMOGA is coming as well.

Early this summer we saw the progress of Walgreens in Lafayette on Mt. Diablo Blvd. and they are now open. Conveniently, the parking lot is connected to the Pet Food Express parking lot making it easy to exit for a left turn. Thanks to everyone who emailed about this.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
In July we learned that lululemon would be relocating, along with ivivva, its shop geared towards athletic wear for girls within downtown Walnut Creek to Broadway Plaza and recently plans were submitted for a cool metal tree sculpture that would adorn the outside walls. Located across from Nordstrom, this will have a major impact in Broadway Plaza due to its visibility. I wonder how close the final design will be to this rendering. Stay tuned…
Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center
Last November we learned that Lucky supermarket closed in the Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center and as you can see from the sign in the above photo Orchard Supply Hardware is opening in its place, “coming soon”.
