I noticed a For Lease sign by the Dudum Real Estate Group over House of Beads in downtown Walnut Creek on Locust St. Next door Diane’s Bikini is opening up and is currently getting remodeled. If you look at the post I made about Diane’s you’ll notice a Herman Commercial Real Estate sign was used so something apparently changed hence the lease sign over House of Beads, in downtown Walnut Creek since 1994. Check out the House of Beads site here.

As a parent to a young boy I’ve been in my fair share of LEGO stores but this is the first independently owned LEGO store I’ve been to. Located in downtown Concord in the Bacon Block building where Vinnie’s Bar & Grill is, to get to King Bricks head up to the second floor and there will be a small room chock full of LEGO sets, mini figures; they even sell blocks in bulk. They also buy and sell used sets. Note that they are only open on weekends. Check out their website here.

Back last December I posted some scuttlebutt that Uniqlo would be opening in downtown Walnut Creek where The Children’s Place used to be and it turns out it’s going to be a big one at over 13,000 square feet, making it the second largest Uniqlo in Northern California after their San Francisco flagship location. Thanks to a reader for pointing this out and based on the renderings it’s going to look great, can’t wait to check it out!

I’m not sure how definite this is but a reliable source told me that Barnes & Noble may be closing in downtown Walnut Creek at the corner of S. Main St. and Olympic Blvd. If so the manager is not aware of this so maybe it’ll stay after all.
The demolition of part of Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek has now begun as their redevelopment plan goes forward. As you can see in the above photo, the backside and side where Burberry used to be is completely gone.
The other side of Broadway Plaza is still open, as are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Macy’s. In May Tesla will be opening a showroom, and based on some scuttlebutt Madewell and Michael Kors plan on opening in the new section.
