The Liberty Bell Kiosks that opened with high hopes a couple of years ago (near the restaurant Il Forniao) and that have been empty for a while now have finally been removed freeing up space to enjoy the fountain.

Old location in Clocktower
3604 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette
RadioShack is relocating in the next month or so across the street next to Swad Indian Cuisine and Lafayette Beauty Store & Salon on Mt. Diablo Blvd. With the Lafayette Clocktower now home to three fashion boutiques (Francesca’s, Lanvie, and Venture) I can envision another kind of boutique opening up.
2860 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
Thanks to everyone who sent word that Progressive is opening a new service center in Walnut Creek on N. Main St. where Piedmont Lumber used to be. To see what a Progressive Service Center is like check out this video:

The men’s clothing store Pelican Rock that opened a couple of years ago in Walnut Creek is moving to Danville and plans on re-opening mid May. Check out their Facebook page here. They will be located downtown at 178 East Prospect, a street with quite a few clothing boutiques so they’ll fit right in.

Last month I posted some scuttlebutt that Madewell would be opening in Broadway Plaza and now it looks like fashion store Michael Kors will be opening in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek as well in the new section that will reopen in a couple of years.

The vintage collective and DIY workshop The Bloom Space that opened in Lafayette in 2013 is moving to 444 Hartz Ave. in Danville on May 1st according to a sign in the window. Their last day in Lafayette is April 25th. Check out their Facebook page here.

45 Crescent Dr, Pleasant Hill
Back in February I noted that the men’s clothing store Atlas was opening a new location in downtown Pleasant Hill as well as expanding into women’s fashion and Atlas & Athena has now been open since last Friday in the Pleasant Hill shopping center on Crescent Drive in the clock tower. I dropped by to check it out and get some photos and as expected it looks amazing. With huge ceilings, windows and an expansive floor space it feels really bright and airy throughout. Combine that with a great design aesthetic makes this a great spot to check out the latest men’s and now women’s fashion.
There are plans for the clock tower to be redeveloped with a new, bigger clock, slider windows and a patio area in front so stay tuned for updates…

Orinda Theatre Square
Over the weekend the gift shop ECHO Grove, featuring a “curated collection of handmade goods” from the bay area and elsewhere in the United States opened in Orinda Theatre Square. There are various sections such as housewares, women’s goods, jewelry, kids, electronic accessories (such as iPad stands) and men’s goods; each item displays a small card with the artist’s name, location and description explaining the item further in-depth which I appreciated. Check out their Facebook page here and website here. The closeup photos below show off some of the beautiful work featured throughout the store.

Last month Edwards Luggage reopened in a new Broadway Plaza location in downtown Walnut Creek and their outside signage is now up. Looks like they rebranded themselves as Edwards – Everything Travel which was a great decision as it better describes what their store is all about. Not just luggage. Check out their website here.
