Way back in October I noted that Burberry was closing in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and they are now gone as you can see. I wonder if the more accessible Burberry Brit will take its place when the Broadway Plaza redevelopment is completed…
Last month I noted that Banana Republic was moving across the street to where Victoria’s Secret used to be in Broadway Plaza, and the remodel has now begun. Check out the rendering below to get an idea of how the outside will look. More information about the project plan is here.
Last month I noted that the women’s boutique White House | Black Market was moving from their old location in Broadway Plaza and they are now open in a new Broadway Plaza spot next to Juicy Couture, right across from the fountain.

Last year back in September I posted about the pop-up store Toss Designs opening in Broadway Plaza next to Nordstrom and unfortunately they will be closing this location at the end of January. Their San Francisco location on 2185 Chestnut St. is open so you can still check them out there. Check out their website here.
1035 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant Hill
A bit late but the independent record store Rasputin Music & DVDs opened at the corner of Contra Costa Blvd. and Taylor Blvd. in Pleasant Hill back in August. They left their previous Concord location due to Hobby Lobby taking over this spot. I dropped by recently and it’s much larger than I imagined. Very interesting place. A Massage Envy franchise is opening in the Rheem shopping center in Moraga, “coming soon”.
The jewelry store C.Y. Louie is closing on the backside of Broadway Plaza. According to a sign in the window there is a sale with, “up to 50% off”.
1414 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
The Danville-based, high-end women’s consignment boutique Consignit Couture is opening a new location on February 1st next to Lottie’s Creamery in downtown Walnut Creek on N. Main St. This is where the women’s boutique Liliana Castellanos used to be. Find out about their special, pre-opening “60% consignor and 40% Consignit Couture” split here. Last month I posted scuttlebutt that the Japanese clothing store Uniqlo may be coming to downtown Walnut Creek and it turns out to be true according to the shopping center’s site plan. Uniqlo is set to take over 2 floors at the corner of S. Main St. and Botelho Dr. In the meantime Gina Khan Salon which used to be located upstairs temporarily moved into the spacious first floor location while Camera West on the second floor will move over to the old Gina Khan location across the hall by March.
