Head 2 Toe Reflexology & Massage recently opened in downtown Walnut Creek on Locust St. I believe another massage place used to be at this location so not much has changed.

Rossi’s Tennis & Running shop recently moved from their Oak Hill location to Mt. Diablo Blvd. right behind Boswell’s Party Supplies in the parking lot where the Caffino stand is located in downtown Lafayette. Apparently Rossi’s is known for their tennis stringing operation.
The housewares and gift shop Entrez! Open House has recently closed in downtown Walnut Creek on Cypress St. Their new location will be at 100 Grand Ave. in Oakland beginning June 24th. Check out their website here. This leaves downtown Walnut Creek without two great housewares and gift shops as Wish also left downtown Walnut Creek for 2333 Boulevard Way in Walnut Creek less than a mile away.
Last month I noted that the home decor shop Queen Bee would be closing in Lafayette and according to Diablo Style a new boutique called J. Colleen will be offering “upscale vintage clothing, original artwork” and jewelry beginning September 1st at this location.

Props as always to Venture men’s goods in Lafayette for their killer window displays!
Back in February I noted that a new salon was opening where Pure Beauty used to be on Mt. Diablo Blvd. in downtown Lafayette and now Lafayette Beauty Store has opened. There is quite a large cosmetics section in front as can be seen in the photo below.
Lafayette Beauty Store is located at 3606 Mount Diablo Blvd. right near Pizza Antica in Lafayette.

Thanks to the owner of Big Dave’s Bikes for pointing out that his new bike shop opened recently in Pleasant Hill at 609 Gregory Lane right near the Contra Costa Canal Trail. Check out their website here. From an email:

BDB is the newest Trek dealer in the Bay Area with availability/access of over 50 different models. BDB prices on new bikes include free tuning for life. Shop Owner David Bzdula has 30+ years experience in bicycle maintenance and sales.

Last month I noted that Mancini’s Sleepworld would be moving a few blocks from their Locust St. location to N. Main St. where the baby store Giggle used to be and the signs are now up. According to a Mancini’s employee I spoke with they’re planning for a mid to late June opening.
Yesterday Diablo Style mentioned that the men’s clothing store JoS. A. Banks would be opening up in this location but as you can see by the sign Mancini’s is definitely opening here. I would have thought a clothing store would have worked well here but that’s not going to happen now.

Earlier this month I noted that the gift boutique Wish moved from downtown Walnut Creek to Boulevard Circle, also in Walnut Creek. Their signage is now up and they have now opened their back patio up for garden furniture and decor as you can see from the photo below. Remember that there is a one-time 20% off coupon that expires this Friday. Click here to print out the coupon and a map.

Over the past year it seems as if every baby store has closed in downtown Walnut Creek and Lafayette. Day One, Giggle, Tulip and The Right Start have all closed. I was worried what might happen to the toy store Five Little Monkeys in downtown Walnut Creek but it turns out that Walnut Creek is their second highest grossing location after their Albany location and they plan on opening a new store in Burlingame.
Located at 1366 N Main St. in the heart of downtown Walnut Creek, Five Little Monkeys offers a huge selection of high quality toys at all price points. Having two small kids I’ve shopped here a lot and have always found interesting toys to get with the help of the employees. For birthday party gifts I just tell them whether it’s for a boy or girl and the age and they know exactly the types of toys to recommend. As a special offer to readers, mention “Beyond the Creek” through May 31st, 2013 and you can receive 15% off your purchase, may not be combined with any other offer and is only valid for the Walnut Creek location.
