Last month we learned that the Hawaiian goods store Paia Mercantile would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek and they are now open. They used to have several stores in Maui, Hawaii but they have now relocated to Walnut Creek which is great news for those interested in Hawaiian goods. Threads Consignment, which moved to this spot a couple of years ago next to Veggie Grill, is closing according to a sign in the window. “40% off clothes and shoes and 20% off jewelry.”

Last summer we learned that the consignment boutique Main Street Rags would be relocating within downtown Walnut Creek to Civic Dr. and they have now reopened. Check out their online shop here.

Solstice Sunglasses, which opened over four years ago at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, has closed according to the Broadway Plaza directory page. According to this New York Business Journal article, they declared bankruptcy last month.
Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center
The Friends Books Store, featuring donated books to the Pleasant Hill library, opened last summer where Corner Bakery Cafe used to be in the Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center.
