Spirit Halloween is coming to Walnut Creek where Pier 1 Imports used to be. According to their website they are open with a 20% off coupon here. What I wonder is, are people really going to go trick or treating next month without an available vaccine? Maybe they feel a scary mask will protect themselves?

Thanks to everyone who emailed that The Dallas Morning News has reported that Neiman Marcus, which opened in 2012 at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, has added this location as one of the nine stores to its closing list. It’s expected to close after Christmas. The boarded up windows you see in the above photo were taken over the weekend due to a downtown demonstration.

Although the Write That Down Stationery and Gift Boutique closed in Walnut Creek, “due to COVID in May”, they are still open online. They have a 30% off summer sale and a very cool stationery selection so I encourage you to check them out and support a locally owned business online for now.
From their website:
In January 2020, we opened our first and only Write That Down storefront in downtown Walnut Creek, California. The shop featured a curated selection of greeting cards, stationery and gifts for all ages. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we had to permanently close our brick & mortar shop in May 2020. However, Write That Down will carry on through our online shop until we can open again in a new location.
