A new pet food store called K-9 Kitchen opened last month in Lafayette. In addition to a variety of pet food brands they also offer a self serve dog wash.

1550 Canyon Rd, Moraga
Last year Orchard Supply Hardware closed in Moraga (and elsewhere) and now Outdoor Supply Hardware is opening in this spot this fall. Central Network Retail Group (CNRG), “a multi-format, multi-brand retailer operating 104 hardware stores, home centers, and lumberyards throughout fourteen states across the US.” will run the stores. Rheem Theatre has been sold to Cinema West according to Lamorinda Weekly. They are currently closed but when I dropped by recently there was someone inside working on something.
City Center Bishop Ranch, San Ramon
Sunglass Hut opened recently at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Lush Cosmetics, which opened a few years ago at Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek has closed temporarily for a few weeks for a remodel. Check out their online shop here. What do you think of their bath bombs? Worthwhile?

A & G Jewelers is closing on December 24th in downtown Walnut Creek. According to the signs outside they are retiring. I’ve been going here for many years for various repairs and have always had excellent experiences so this is too bad!
City Center Bishop Ranch, San Ramon
Next month J.Crew-owned clothing store Madewell, which opened at Broadway Plaza several years ago, is opening a new location at City Center Bishop Ranch in San Ramon. Check out their online selection here.

Thanks to everyone who sent word that Boswell’s Discount Party Supplies has closed in Lafayette after 35 years due losing their lease according to a sign in the window. Their Danville location remains open. One reader wrote in hoping that the Lafayette police department takes over this space due to, “police equipment parked in the median and one further down the street toward Jack-in-the-Box.” Check out the photo below and you can see this is no exaggeration.
