The vintage store The Spotted Cow is relocating from their Walnut Creek location, where they have been since the summer of 2014, to a “white metal barn” in downtown Martinez. March 25th will be their last day in Walnut Creek. Check out their website here.

When we close our doors on March 25, we’re taking a few months off to regroup, recharge, and reSTOCK! When we see you again in the fall, we’ll look a little different. Rather than being open 5 days every week, we’re evolving to a quarterly model to better serve you with authentic, beautiful, stylish vintage and vintage-inspired treasures. What exactly does this mean? It means that 4 times a year, we’ll throw open the doors of our AMAZING, newly restored, white metal barn in downtown Martinez and invite you to a week-long vintage extravaganza! Expect guest vendors, beautifully curated and staged merchandise, special guests, workshops, demonstrations, food vendors, and more. Plan to join us for Thursday night opening parties with music, cocktails, and first dibs on the very best of what’s new, and to return throughout the long weekend for new finds, workshops, and more.

Peloton Showroom Opening Soon in Broadway Plaza

At the beginning of the year we learned that a Peloton cycling showroom would be opening in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and the Opening Signage is now up. Interestingly, it’s going to be where Kate Spade used to be rather than the other available spot to the left. Check out info about their bike here.

Toys “R” Us Closing (or Selling) All US Stores

Last September we learned that the iconic toy store Toys “R” Us filed bankruptcy which ended up not affecting the new opening in the Veranda shopping center in Concord a couple of months later but as people have guessed, yesterday it was announced that all stores in the US will be closing or sold off according to this NY Times article.

From the article:

Liquidation sales will take place over the next few months, as the company clears the shelves at its roughly 880 Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us stores around the country.

Brides On Hartz Opening in April in Danville

Presence Gift Shop closed recently in Danville and a new bridal boutique called Brides on Hartz is opening in this spot next month in April. Check out the designers they carry here. In addition to wedding gowns they also offer wedding and event planning services here.

Thanks to a reader for sending word that the casual men’s shirt store UNTUCKit is coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek where True Religion and Just Cozy used to be. Check out their men’s selection here and women’s selection here.

GAP Factory Outlet Coming to The Veranda in Concord

Last month we found out that a Banana Republic Factory Outlet would be coming to the Veranda shopping center in Concord, and a GAP factory outlet is coming to The Veranda as well. According to a source it looks like GAP may close in the Sunvalley shopping center. Old Navy is also relocating to The Veranda.

Corporate Sprint Store Closing Later this Year in Downtown Walnut Creek

The corporate Sprint store in downtown Walnut Creek is closing later this year, possibly in October. According to an employee they are looking for another location in downtown Walnut Creek otherwise the closest corporate store is in Concord’s Sunvalley shopping center.

Old Navy Coming to The Veranda in Concord

Lots of new stores coming to the Veranda shopping center in Concord with Old Navy being the latest. According to an employee from the current Old Navy store at the Willows shopping center located next door they plan on opening sometime in 2019.
