The clothing store Atlas & Athena is relocating a few blocks from their current Botelho Dr. location in downtown Walnut Creek to a spot on N. Main St. where jeu de jupe used to be and interestingly, across the street from where Atlas was originally located several years ago. Collector’s Choice Antiques, which opened in 2011 according to their website, is closing at the end of January in Lafayette with “up to 75% off continual markdowns”. Very interesting stuff inside, be sure to check it out before they close!

Powell’s Sweet Shoppe has closed in Lafayette however not to worry; according to a sign in the window, they are remodeling and will reopen as Zoonie’s on January 18th, “the same great store with all the sweets, gelato, chocolates and delights you love, under a different name”. According to their Facebook page, “the name change is because we will no longer be part of the Powell’s franchise. We will be an independent store.”
Note that they will be “serving free gelato Wednesday January 18 and all day Saturday January 21“.

The women’s clothing store “holiday pop-up”, Amour Vert has closed in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek.

Copymat has relocated a few doors down in downtown Walnut Creek where Rivendell Bike, Book & Hatchet used to be.

Go! Calendars – Games – Toys, which opened in September in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek will be closing within the next couple of weeks. Right now everything is 50% off. Note the difference between this sign and this “up to 50% off” sign for the Sports Authority store closing sale earlier this year.

It’s time to close a chapter at Red House, as we run our final shows in our venue at 1667 Botelho Drive in Walnut Creek. Unfortunately, our lease ends this month, and we were unable to secure an extension from our Landlord. So, after 11 years of all-ages shows, the weekend of December 15-18 will be our last.
But please know, Red House is NOT CLOSING. Our lessons and band programs will continue to run into 2017 and beyond, mostly in the space we have above the venue. We’ll also be announcing a new long term home in the coming weeks. We’re not going away, just turning the page. Stay tuned!
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
In September we learned that Old Navy would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek and the “Coming Soon” signage is now up. The GAP, which owns Old Navy, is right across and two other GAP-owned brands, Banana Republic and Athleta also have locations in Broadway Plaza.

The Swedish clothing company H&M is maintaining their Broadway presence in downtown Walnut Creek and will be reopening in Broadway Plaza this Thursday, December 15th according to their store web page. As you can see in the photo below, their old Broadway Pointe location a block away is now closed.
