Agora at South Main
Earlier this week we learned that Starbucks opened at the Agora apartment complex and T-Mobile will opening soon around the corner. Thanks to a reader for sending word.
261 Lafayette Circle, Lafayette
J. Colleen Boutique has closed in Lafayette. They had been at this location for a couple of years. According to their Facebook page, the owner Julie Rubio will be making a movie called “ONE”. Check out her IMDB page here.
Sunvalley Shopping Center, Concord
The food court in Sunvalley Shopping Center in Concord reopened recently and right nearby one can see the giant signs for Round 1 Bowling & Amusement. According to the Round One’s Sunvalley employment page, there will be video games, bowling, and karaoke. Sounds fun! Based on the alcoholic beverage sign above it looks like they will also offer beer and food.
Although the sign says “opening summer 2016” when I peeked inside it didn’t look close to being done.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
The men’s shoe store Allen Edmonds, which we learned would be coming to Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek last October, is getting ready to open soon as you can see by the newly revealed storefront signage. This is one of the last locations remaining to open in the newly developed front section. (Nespresso is the other remaining spot opening soon). Then there is the backside of Broadway Plaza with a whole new slew of stores getting ready to open over the summer.
Find out more about Allen Edmonds on their website here.
Danville Livery
Although the gourmet chocolate shop Pieces of Chocolate closed back in January in Danville Livery, they have relocated to Napa Valley and now offer a monthly club membership. Find out more on their website here.
From their Facebook page:
It was the hardest decision to make for a business owner, moving from brick and mortar to online sales. #piecesofchocolate has closed the doors to our #danville location and moved the operation straight to #napavalley.
Chef Barnes and Noelia would like to thank all of our loyal customers, dear friends and business partners for years of support and love. This is not the end of #piecesofchocolate, only a new beginning in the heart of America’s #winecountry. Thank you, Danville!
Orinda Theatre Square
Visual Entree Optometry recently closed after being in Orinda Theatre Square for several years. I’ve been going here for a while so I’m sad to see them go. Anyone have any recommendations for a nearby eyewear store?
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
Last October we learned that Arhaus Furniture would be opening in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek, and thanks to a reader for pointing out this Craigslist job post that mentioned, “the store is expected to open on June 22nd of 2016“. The Arhaus Walnut Creek web page indicates a July opening. Since the location will be on the backside of the plaza this means this section will be reopening within the next couple of months after having been closed for over two years.
1385 N. Main St, Walnut Creek
To all sweet tooths: sadly, The Candy Counter, which opened a couple of years ago in downtown Walnut Creek is closing by the end of the month. Unlike other sneaky, lawyer-approved closing sales, the sign outside indicates that everything is 50% off.
Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek
The coastal lifestyle brand Coast by Coast, in collaboration with Lou & Grey, displayed their swimwear and lifestyle clothing from a 1972 VW bus in Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek over the weekend. Check out their website here. This was a fun and unexpected display to see at a giant shopping plaza such as Broadway Plaza. I hope this happens more often!
