Scuttlebutt – Premier Bath and Kitchen Opening Showroom in Downtown Walnut Creek

A few years ago Forma Gym relocated from this downtown Walnut Creek spot at the corner of N. California Blvd. and Cypress St. and it looks like Premier Bath and Kitchen will be opening a new showroom at this location. They currently have showrooms in Santa Rosa and Rancho Cordova and although this spot hasn’t been confirmed yet, an employee at Premier Bath and Kitchen did note that they are planning on opening somewhere in downtown Walnut Creek. Elisa Wen Boutique Relocating in Danville

Earlier this week we learned that Pegasus Bike Works closed in Danville and Elisa Wen Boutique (current location visible at right side in above photo) is relocating to this spot in early April.

Specialtees Outlet Relocating to their Main Store in La Fiesta Square in Lafayette

Orangetheory Fitness Coming to Lafayette

Last year the heart rate monitoring gym Orangetheory Fitness opened in downtown Walnut Creek and they will also be opening in downtown Lafayette where Lafayette Pet Shoppe used to be on Mt. Diablo Blvd. Is anyone a member at the Walnut Creek location? How do you like it?

Lafayette Art Gallery Closing in Lafayette this Thursday

A few years ago the Lafayette Art Gallery relocated to Mt. Diablo Blvd. from Lafayette Circle and they are now closing this Thursday, March 31st after being in the community for over 16 years.

It is with sadness that the Lafayette Gallery will be closing on March 31, 2016. The good news is that some art will be on sale for 25% off till then. Look for a yellow dot to get a discount on that piece you have always wanted. If you see the yellow dot its on sale!

Pegasus Bike Works Closes in Danville

Pegasus Bike Works has closed in Danville after 14 years but it looks like it will be reopening in a new location outside Danville. Stay tuned…

Where’s NYX Cosmetics in Broadway Plaza? (Hint, it’s not in the Former J.Crew Store)

As you’re strolling down Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek, you may pass by this colorful new NYX Cosmetics store with a big NYX Cosmetics sign right above the door and colorful window coverings. How many of you attempted to open the door only to find it locked? You have to read the sign carefully where it states “next to Macy’s”. Only then do you realize that a smaller, slate-colored NYX Cosmetics shop opened next to Macy’s. In fact, they opened a couple of weeks ago.

Total Wine & More Coming to Pleasant Hill

Last week we learned that Office Depot is closing in Pleasant Hill and now, thanks to a reader for pointing out this Contra Costa Times article that Total Wine & More will be opening in this location. Their nearest location right now is in Fremont. Check out their website here.

Chico’s Closing in Downtown Walnut Creek

The women’s clothing store Chico’s is closing in downtown Walnut Creek on May 24th after 15 years. Although they are located next to Neiman Marcus and P.F. Chang’s in Broadway Plaza, this spot is not part of Broadway Plaza. Their nearby Lafayette and Danville locations will remain open.

Giant Emu Eggs for Sale at Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market in Walnut Creek

The Lafayette Whole Foods unfortunately stopped carrying ostrich eggs, but if you’re looking for some giants eggs look no farther than the Shadelands Diablo Valley Farmers’ Market in Walnut Creek. I stopped by last weekend and spotted giant green emu eggs being sold. While not quite as large as an ostrich egg, as you can see from the quarter laying on top of one of the emu eggs, they are very, very large. And green. $12 an egg. Anyone try an emu egg before?
