The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is the best known shootout in America’s Wild West era. On October 26, 1881, the Earp brothers and Doc Holliday faced off against the Clanton-McLaury gang in a legendary shootout in Tombstone, Arizona—a 29-second event between two gangs that blasted its way onto the pages of history. This presentation by Larry Ford investigates eyewitness accounts and professional reviews of The Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, bringing to life the characters involved from the Earps and Clantons, to Doc Holliday. It takes modern science and forensic overviews to provide a clear and modern understanding of this notorious moment in the history of the Wild West.
Larry and a number of others are involved in reenacting the Shootout at the O.K. Corral—Larry as the Sherriff of Tombstone, Virgil Earp—and they will be in period garb for the presentation.
