After being gone from downtown Walnut Creek for over two years, the stationery and greeting card store Papyrus is back in downtown Walnut Creek, this time in Broadway Plaza. If you need a greeting card, this is the place to check out. Don’t forget that Paper Source, a much larger stationery store is also located in downtown Walnut Creek, a short walk away.

Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek now boasts three sunglass stores. Apex and Sunglass Hut, both owned by Luxottica, and now Solstice Sunglasses, owned by Safilo. In addition to brands that I’ve seen everywhere, like Ray-Ban, I noticed brands that I haven’t seen before such as Carrera and Polaroid. Who knew Polaroid has a sunglass brand?!

It’s been a long time coming and finally the health-focused restaurant co-founded by Dr. Andrew Weil, True Food Kitchen, will be opening tomorrow, October 18th in Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek. Over the weekend I stopped by for a preview and the decor, service and cuisine were solid throughout. I even saw Dr. Weil himself, bushy white beard and all, eating there. The salmon, roasted beet and farro dish tasted incredible, as did the edamame dumplings. I took a ton of photos so be sure to check them out after the jump. Check out the True Food Kitchen Walnut Creek website here.

It’s been a few years and now the fashion boutique XCVI has returned to Broadway Plaza near the fountain area. Previously they were here as a pop-up but I’ve been told they will be here at least a year and possibly longer.
From their website:
XCVI is about luxury, wearability, comfort. The luxury of super-soft, breathable fabrics that drape without clinging, skimming a woman’s curves, flattering her body.
The wearability of clothes that mix-and-match or work as a complete ensemble. We create clothes that can be worn every day in a thousand different ways. Clothes that feel comfortable all day long. Clothes that can be worn from day to evening, can be dressed up or down. Clothes that are versatile.
