Last week I noted that the fashion accessories store Bracchiale would be reopening in a new Broadway Plaza location next to the Tesla showroom and there is now a sign up indicating that they’re opening on June 20th.

The fashion accessories store Bracchiale is moving to its third Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek location next to Starbucks and the Tesla showroom where 7 For All Mankind used to be. The initial location was here and later they moved here due to the Broadway Plaza redevelopment. Check out their website here.
Broadway Plaza
The Tesla Showroom that replaced the Lacoste clothing store in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek had its grand opening this weekend. Having only ever seen a Tesla on the road it was interesting to check it out in more detail. In the back of the showroom they have the bottom frame on display (see photo below). Since the batteries are underneath the car, there is space in front for a second trunk which I found fascinating. There is also an option (which you can see in the red car) to put additional rear facing seats for small kids which would make me very nervous but according to a Tesla representative the back is reinforced better. Even if you’re not in the market for a $70,000 car I still recommend checking out this showroom to see the possibilities.
The Walnut Creek Route 4 Free Ride has relocated in Broadway Plaza. The new stop is, “located down Broadway Plaza Street, in front of Macy’s for Men”.
The demolition of part of Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek has now begun as their redevelopment plan goes forward. As you can see in the above photo, the backside and side where Burberry used to be is completely gone.
The other side of Broadway Plaza is still open, as are Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom and Macy’s. In May Tesla will be opening a showroom, and based on some scuttlebutt Madewell and Michael Kors plan on opening in the new section.
Back in January I noted that a Tesla showroom would be opening in the former Lacoste clothing store in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek and the signage is now up preparing for a May opening. So even though half of Broadway Plaza is closed for redevelopment it’s good to see a new store especially Tesla opening up here.
Last month I posted some scuttlebutt that Madewell would be opening in Broadway Plaza and now it looks like fashion store Michael Kors will be opening in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek as well in the new section that will reopen in a couple of years.
Last month Edwards Luggage reopened in a new Broadway Plaza location in downtown Walnut Creek and their outside signage is now up. Looks like they rebranded themselves as Edwards – Everything Travel which was a great decision as it better describes what their store is all about. Not just luggage. Check out their website here.
As noted last December, the children’s clothing store Gymboree has reopened in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek across from Starbucks. The original location across the street (and all stores on that side) are now closed due to the redevelopment taking place over the next couple of years.
The women’s fashion clothing store Madewell, owned by J.Crew but based on an American denim label founded in 1937 , will be opening a new location in Broadway Plaza in downtown Walnut Creek when the new section opens up in the next couple of years according to a reliable source.
From the J.Crew website:
In 2006, we introduced Madewell, a modern-day interpretation of an American denim label founded in 1937. Madewell continues to bring the same original integrity to everything it makes today, including a wide range of effortlessly cool pieces to pair with denim. Step inside any Madewell store across the country and you’ll notice a friendly general-store vibe and antique décor that naturally reflect the authenticity and timelessness of the clothing. In addition to Madewell’s brick-and-mortar stores, madewell.com (launched in 2010) is a strong sales driver. Madewell has also been making a further play in the digital space with a robust social media presence.
