Last September we learned that L & L Hawaiian Barbecue would be coming to downtown Walnut Creek where Home of Chicken and Waffles and later Baygreens Salad used to be but as you can see by the above photo taken over the weekend the coming soon signs have been removed, replaced by a leasing sign. Oh well. 😢
Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center
Supercuts has relocated from their Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center location to 1902 Contra Costa Blvd. near Nation’s hamburgers. The grand opening will be in March but you can get $5 off at their Golf Club Road location in the meantime.
2065 N. Broadway, Walnut Creek
Twisted Times restaurant and bar will be opening very soon, possibly as early as this coming Saturday, February 22nd, where Tullio’s Italian Restaurant used to be in Walnut Creek. With eighteen TVs there will be plenty of sports viewing options for sure! They have two menus, one Civilized, and the other Twisted. Check them out here.

2099 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Walnut Creek
Brooklyn-based R&A Cycles soft opened recently in Walnut Creek. In addition to a huge 11,000 square foot retail area with a custom studio called R&A Black, and service center, Ramona’s Cafe, located inside, will be serving various snacks, sandwiches, beverages including beer, wine and more beginning next month. If you’re into high-end cycling this place is a must-see!

Downtown Pleasant Hill Shopping Center
Last year we learned that Haya Ramen would be coming to the Downtown Pleasant Hill shopping center and their signage is now up. According to one of their job postings it will be an authentic Hakata Ramen restaurant. According to this Matcha Ramen magazine article, “a typical bowl of Hakata ramen is garnished with minimal toppings: just green onions and char siu (boiled or roasted pork).”
312 Railroad Ave, Danville
A new Napa-based wine tasting lounge/store called The Find (previously Nomad Vintners) is opening in Danville on March 6th. Find out more about the vintners and the wines they’ll feature here. The inside feels quite spacious with various areas to hang out including a separate room for more private tastings.

370 Hartz Ave, Danville
Hartz Cafe opened last spring in Danville but it was closed when I stopped by over the weekend and looked pretty empty inside. I also noticed a realtor lock box on the door handle. Anyone know what’s going on over there?

Azia Rugs relocated recently within downtown Walnut Creek where Bella Mar Boutique used to be. According to a person working there, the owner is retiring but another person may be taking over so it may live on. If you’re looking for a Middle Eastern rug check this place out.
