Late to the party as they opened last year, but Bill & Bali’s Pizza & Pints opened where Tonli Kitchen used to be in Walnut Creek, right across from the Pleasant Hill BART station. Check out their online menu here.

5 Year Anniversary for Beyond the Creek

I can’t believe it’s been five years for Beyond the Creek being online. I still enjoy walking around town finding out the latest shops and restaurants that are opening as well as taking in the great nature scenes that the East Bay has to offer. Thanks to everyone for reading and any tips you have emailed! In addition to tips, if you have any quality of life issues that you’d like featured please send those as well. Let’s see what the next five years has to bring!

Four Year Anniversary for Beyond the Creek

Well, another year has gone by, and Beyond the Creek has now been online for four years. Sometimes I wonder if there are enough interesting things to post about but there always seems to be something going on around town. Thanks to everyone for reading, and sending in tips, suggestions and photos; I really do appreciate it! Join us on August 28th as Rolling Hills Court Yard & Parking Lot will transform into a Galaxy Far, Far Away! Family Activities begin at 7pm including Star Wars Jumpy, Star Wars Arts and Crafts and a Meet & Greet with Darth Vader and his Storm Troopers. “A New Hope” will begin at dark ~ 8:30pm on our huge outdoor screen. Kids are encouraged to bring there Sleeping Bags & Adults their Camping Chairs. Admission is Free! Snacks (Candy, Popcorn, Water & Soda) are available for purchase for $1 each. All Procedes/Donations will directly go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Beyond the Creek T-Shirts have Arrived

Earlier this month I placed a small order for Beyond the Creek t-shirts and they look great! Although the text looks fuzzy in the picture above it looks fine in-person. For now, whoever sends in the most tips every month (that are used on the site) will get a free t-shirt, starting this month. These are Hanes Beefy-T 100% cotton, tagless, with sizes available in S-M-L-XL.

New Design for BtCreek

I finally got around to completing a revamped design with a new background header, cleaner logo, new tagline and different overall theme. Overall it should still function the same as always. Thanks to those who provided feedback. One of the suggested taglines was “From Fish Ranch to the Foothills” which I changed to “From the Caldecott to the Diablo Foothills”. Friday Question of the Day – What is your Favorite Karaoke Spot?

Yesterday we learned that the karaoke/pool club 9 Game Zone intends to serve beer and wine in Pleasant Hill and I noticed the shopping plaza nearby also had a karaoke lounge. These places offer private rooms for rent with songs in English, Korean, Chinese and Korean generally. What is your favorite karaoke spot?

Help find a Tagline for Beyond the Creek

Although this blog initially focused on Walnut Creek and Lafayette it covers nearby cities as well such as Pleasant Hill, Danville, Concord, Lamorinda and more so the tagline, “Walnut Creek – Lafayette & Beyond” seems too WC/Lafayette centric. I’ve been thinking about trying a new tagline but haven’t come up with anything besides “Neighborhood Blog”. “East Bay Neighborhood Blog” seems too broad so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for a tagline for this blog to please let me know in the comments or email me at adam [at] beyondthecreek.com Thanks for any suggestions!
