Lester Lanin Goes to College
Dear BtCreek,
I’m pretty convinced that the Walnut Creek (Broadway Plaza) Santa is the real Santa and I love that my kids get their photo with him each year. I’m really sad that he doesn’t have a home in Walnut Creek for 2014, and the Pleasanton and Concord Santas are just not the same. I was too late to get into the Breakfast With Santa and I see he’ll be around the weekend before Christmas — since you’re in the know, is that my only chance to snap a photo of my little ones with the Best Santa Ever?
Check out more details on where the Broadway Plaza Santa will be here. Not how many other opportunities there will be besides the weekend before Christmas, anyone know?
The album cover of the day is back! Spotted at the Hospice Boutique Thrift Shoppe in Walnut Creek, near Whole Foods. The Leon & Mary Russell Wedding Album, from 1976:
Walnut Creek farmers market
The drinking chocolate company from Grass Valley (near Lake Tahoe) CaCoCo is now available at the Walnut Creek farmers market in downtown Walnut Creek on Sundays. Check them out on Facebook here.
From their website:
CaCoCo is an all organic, superfood drinking chocolate, as good nutritionally for the body as it is good tasting. We use whole, raw cacao beans, low-glycemic, mineral-rich sweeteners like coconut nectar crystals and carob, and fresh warming spices like true cinnamon, nutmeg, and ground vanilla bean.
CaCoCo is dairy-free, gluten free, and contains no major allergens like soy, corn, and cane sugar.
Check out how puny the old Pleasant Hill clock looked on the Clock Tower in downtown Pleasant Hill and you can appreciate what a difference it makes, nice!
Yet another year has gone by as this blog has turned three! Thanks to everyone for sending in tips, suggestions and participating over the past year; it’s been a fun and informative year and I look forward to what’s in store the next year. Please keep the tips coming and if you have any questions or problems about living here please send them in, thank you!

From the Walnut Creek PD:
Here is an update on the wallet thief. Take a close look as she is seen exiting a store after purchasing over $1000 worth of merchandise on the stolen credit card. This is just one of the stores she hit. Please call the Walnut Creek Police Dept at (925)943-5844 if you recognize her.
